SOLO TREK - BY ECOWARRIOR ARUN - 27 mar 2009

This warrior had probably turned nuts.... all of a sudden in the pricking heat with no one with him he started to climb the hills. Frustration was at the fullest height. His University treated him like a dog and so he was very much upset. And other than that he was blaming the whole world for reasons known only to his brain.

It was around 10 a.m on Friday, all the warriors were still on bed waiting to be awakened. Then there was this call from ARUN, he wanted to climb the hills which we were not able to conquer last time. None of us were really interested because of the hot climate and so we declined his offer which led him to march alone into the hills. His destination was SHRI THANIGAI ARANGANATHAR PERAMAL temple which is pudur, karamadai, coimbatore.

He started at the foot hills with lots of thoughts of fear and his only aim was to reach the peak and to move towards the temple. His journey was simple than the previous time for a while then he had to do rock climbing, run into the thorny bushes, dehydrate under the sun and had to look 360 degree all around for he was all alone.

After some time he got really tired and laid under a rock for rest. After getting re-energized he picked up his pace and the top of the hill. Then he continued his trek towards the peak and reached it.

The hill on top was green and if rain were there will be more nice and pleasant to sit there. After trying to move in the direction of the temple he found that the one way path that he followed started becoming narrow and the forest was becoming denser. And in a location he found a lot of animal waste which he presumes would be that of the BISONS. And as the sun started to decent and the time was 3.30 p.m. Having no proper leads he started walking back on the same track as you know he is a person who like to venture into new places even after knowing there is trouble (and when he finds trouble he does not face them but runs away).

In his decent he goes along different paths and then reaches the BETTATHAPURAM temple on the other side of the hill. It was a surprise for him to find a temple on his way back. He got a cup of tea over there and lots of water. To his luck it started raining and it was a go for him. He walked back enjoying the climate. Got a bus and travelled back to the base. By the time he reached the base it was time for the dinner. He felt really happy and this was his first solo trek and it was completed succefully except at a different destination.
